01
Whitening
At our Clinic, we will first evaluate your teeth and determine your suitability for bleaching. On appropriate patients, bleaching will predictably lighten the teeth a number of shades. Teeth whitening treatments have undergone extensive testing to ensure their total safety. It does not damage the teeth and has minimal side effects.
02
Tooth Coloured Fillings
Traditional amalgam fillings are dark in color and although they work effectively, they do stand out against your naturally white teeth.
An attractive alternative is tooth colored composite resin fillings. They are made of a plastic material mixed with small glass particles, and are suitable for restoring the front and back teeth. Composite resin fillings are hard wearing and durable, and they are bonded directly to what remains of the tooth. Composite resin fillings are completed in a single appointment, and are set in your tooth with a special light so you can bite on your new restoration as soon as you leave the surgery.
03
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth colored porcelain shells that are bonded to the front of your existing teeth. Porcelain veneers are excellent for transforming uneven, discolored and crooked teeth into perfectly shaped and natural smiles. They are highly durable and are able to recreate the lustre, translucency and shade of natural teeth, which will then last for many years. Porcelain veneers are a more conservative treatment than a crown and can often be utilized if the underlying tooth is strong and healthy.
Porcelain veneers require two appointments. We begin by preparing each tooth by removing a tiny amount of enamel from your tooth surface. We then take an impression of your teeth, from which the Dental Laboratory will create your custom-made porcelain veneers in about two weeks. Our Team will work closely with the Dental Laboratory to create the perfect shape and color of your veneers. Once you are happy with your new look, your veneers will be permanently bonded to your existing teeth.
PORCELAIN CROWNS & BRIDGES
Crowns and bridges are constructed from various types of materials. The most aesthetic of these materials is where the prosthesis is made entirely of porcelain. This area is continuing to evolve and there are now new porcelain types such as Emax and Layered Zirconium that allow us to predictably restore your tooth / teeth is the most aesthetic way possible. The shape, size, color and surface characteristics of the crown or bridge are precisely matched to the surrounding teeth.
01
DENTAL BRIDGES
A dental bridge is one of the treatment options we have to permanently replace a missing tooth. A dental bridge literally bridges the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns fitted to the teeth on either side of the gap, and a false tooth / teeth permanently attached to, and retained by the crowns.
02
DENTAL CROWNS
both function and aesthetics to teeth in a predictable long-term manner. Crowns are recommended when what is left of the tooth is unlikely to support a large filling in the long term, making it vulnerable to further cracking and fracturing. A crown may be indicated when a tooth breaks, is found to be cracked, or has recently had Root Canal Treatment.
The process of making a crown occurs over two appointments which are about two weeks apart. The first appointment involves preparing the tooth to the desired shape which involves removing the outer 1-2mm of tooth structure from the sides and the biting surface of the tooth. This creates room for the crown. Impressions are taken of the prepared tooth. The ceramist uses these impressions to fabricate the final crown. A temporary plastic crown is created to protect the tooth until the next appointment in about two weeks time. The second appointment involves removing the temporary crown, checking the fit and aesthetics of the permanent crown, before ultimately cementing it into place.
Crowns are constructed from various types of materials. All Ceramic crowns are entirely made of porcelain and are used on front teeth where aesthetics is the priority. Porcelain Bonded-to-Metal crowns combine the aesthetics of porcelain on the outside of the crown with the strength of a gold alloy on the inside. Gold alloy crowns are the most durable and long lasting, and are considered on back teeth if function rather than aesthetics is the priority.
At the ClassDental, we will use the most appropriate crown material for your situation. We will also work closely with the local Dental Laboratory to ensure the technical excellence of your finished crown. We do not use cheaper overseas laboratories.
